In the 12th minute of the match SK Mons got a corner. Lobo Guará's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Thanks to some nice moves Peng Xu could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Vânderson Esteves however easily saved by the left post. In the 19th minute Leif Olofsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to SK Mons getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Sammy Van Houdtvin hit a great ball. Connor Osmond showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chu Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Connor Osmond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Mendonça in the 28th minute of play. Vânderson Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Ulici in the 30th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornel Ulici in the 32nd minute of play forced Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Vânderson Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute Gustavo Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Connor Osmond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustavo Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Connor Osmond made a huge save. Vânderson Esteves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ruben Smidts went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. SK Mons's Yanniek Verhaert was substituted for Sammy Van Houdtvin. 66 minutes into the match, Lobo Guará's goal looked a bit too open when Cornel Ulici came free, but Vânderson Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 minutes, Ruben Smidts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SK Mons and the Lobo Guará players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th match minute, SK Mons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Smidts to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, SK Mons's Leif Olofsson got a free kick in the 75th minute. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 85th minute, one of SK Mons:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SK Mons. The supporters of Lobo Guará booed when SK Mons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornel Ulici didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Leif Olofsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle sounded Lobo Guará left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SK Mons.
