Marcus Engström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Avanti Muntu, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Tord Lundström was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, one of Aston Villa FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Aston Villa FC. In the 24th minute of the match Aston Villa FC got a corner. Real Mollucas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leonardo Lenberg ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Real Mollucas's goalie and right to Reine Kvist. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Real Mollucas's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 43rd play minute Matthias Askberg came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Misbach Dharmasakti. 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matthias Askberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Matthias Askberg charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matthias Askberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Aston Villa FC's Matthias Askberg got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Misbach Dharmasakti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthias Askberg in the 56th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Sondang Gantina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wempy Kalla kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st match minute, Aston Villa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valter Alfors to maneuver through the defense. After 66 played minutes Real Mollucas got a freekick which was hit by Miftah Hardianto. 69 minutes into the game, Kurniawan Tauhid was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Mollucas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aston Villa FC the free kick. When Valter Alfors came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Aston Villa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valter Alfors couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute, Wempy Kalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the match, Aston Villa FC's Leonardo Lenberg broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 84th match minute, Real Mollucas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sondang Gantina to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Real Mollucas's zone, Matthias Askberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Misbach Dharmasakti came out of the goal and Matthias Askberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 91 minutes of play, Real Mollucas's Fajar Supendi made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcus Engström was left in no man's land by his defense there!
