In the 5th match minute, Meerkats FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincent Callus to maneuver through the defense. Fredric Hansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pelle Haglund in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Ramon Edur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Defensores de Lombroso getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Edi Cavani hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pelle Haglund in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fredric Hansson saved Meerkats FC from getting behind. In the 16thth minute of the game Pelle Haglund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Meerkats FC's Fredric Hansson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vincent Callus's late challenge caught a Defensores de Lombroso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vincent Callus helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Meerkats FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Vincent Callus hit a great ball. Defensores de Lombroso's Loco Gatti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Defensores de Lombroso from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vincent Callus got free with Loco Gatti in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edi Cavani in the 27th minute of play forced Meerkats FC's goalkeeper Fredric Hansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Nick Farrugia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fredric Hansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edi Cavani, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Meerkats FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Musu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Loco Gatti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pelle Haglund to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Defensores de Lombroso's Flavio Obeko got a free kick in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Defensores de Lombroso's zone, Robert Portanier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Loco Gatti came out of the goal and Robert Portanier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Defensores de Lombroso defense, Kevin Musu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Loco Gatti. The Defensores de Lombroso fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Loco Gatti should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Meerkats FC's Nick Farrugia got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 63rdth minute of the game Pelle Haglund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Meerkats FC's Fredric Hansson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Seracino Inglott in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Loco Gatti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Defensores de Lombroso booed when Meerkats FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nick Farrugia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Defensores de Lombroso made a substitution. Rolando Martxel replaced Leonardo Bidun. Nick Farrugia kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincent Callus in the 76th minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Loco Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Farrugia in the 87th minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Loco Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Loco Gatti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Seracino Inglott in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Defensores de Lombroso's goal looked a bit too open when Zach Gerada came free, but Loco Gatti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 played minutes Defensores de Lombroso got a freekick which was hit by Delmar Nuxila. The referee gave Meerkats FC a penalty, 96 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Robert Portanier, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Defensores de Lombroso's Loco Gatti. 3-1. Meerkats FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Defensores de Lombroso for a fine match.
