Albano Asteri kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 6th minute, Tim Bollström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 7 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Gabriel Toli broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Reynaldo Sabin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo Millrick kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. The supporters of Sunkens Surtröjor booed when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Sabin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Zuri Megia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Bolin. Zuri Megia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Folke Frisk in the 19th minute of play. Magnus Ersman charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Magnus Ersman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd minute, Magnus Ersman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th match minute, Sunkens Surtröjor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malte Gerdberg to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Magnus Anundsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Mundo in the 35th minute of play. Martin Bolin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zuri Megia having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sunkens Surtröjor's Sebastian Bröms got a free kick in the 39th minute. Karl-Magnus Anundsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Mundo in the 41st minute of the match. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 44th minute, when Folke Frisk scored to the left of an out of position Zuri Megia, making the score, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel Toli to make the kick off. A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Gabriel Toli hit a great ball. Zuri Megia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Bolin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Bolin came free, but Zuri Megia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Bolin came free, but Zuri Megia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sunkens Surtröjor were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niklas Ekström took the corner. If Folke Frisk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Bolin in the 89th minute of play forced NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Zuri Megia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 98th minute Ludvig Sundin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuri Megia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sunkens Surtröjor's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
