Caco Furlan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Gil Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olímpico Blumenau FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil Lira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Bordat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abel Bordat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Cunha in the 17th minute of the match. Caco Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ambrosio Etxatxu in the 26th minute of play. After some careless play in the BFC 1982 defense, Glauco Vander kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abel Bordat. The BFC 1982 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abel Bordat should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ambrosio Etxatxu in the 35th minute of play forced Olímpico Blumenau FC's goalkeeper Caco Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Olímpico Blumenau FC's Caco Furlan got control of the ball when Inocencio Corderall tried to sneak it across the goal line. Glauco Vander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

BFC 1982's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Glauco Vander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Olímpico Blumenau FC's goalkeeper Caco Furlan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 77th minute Ambrosio Etxatxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caco Furlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caco Furlan came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by BFC 1982's Inocencio Corderall. But to his dismay, Inocencio Corderall quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Caco Furlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ambrosio Etxatxu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Saturnino Txanton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the match, Ambrosio Etxatxu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caco Furlan. Olímpico Blumenau FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ambrosio Etxatxu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Caco Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ambrosio Etxatxu in the 94th minute of the match. Olímpico Blumenau FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
