Charlie Swan's late challenge caught a FC LauB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Charlie Swan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC LauB booed when Gavião Kyikatejê was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charlie Swan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mario Mendez scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Innes McWalter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Innes McWalter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pascual Markel in the 7th minute of the match. If João Vítor Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 10 minutes into the game, Martin McComas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gavião Kyikatejê's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC LauB the free kick. In the 10th match minute, Gavião Kyikatejê was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin McComas to maneuver through the defense. After 11 played minutes, FC LauB's Augusto da Cunha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Innes McWalter came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC LauB reached it. A collision led to Gavião Kyikatejê getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Davie McWhirter hit a great ball. Innes McWalter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ander Lepist in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, FC LauB's goalkeeper Rutger Danielsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Vítor Bittencourt. Innes McWalter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ander Lepist, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Yao Jing Zhen kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. With a little luck, FC LauB's Rutger Danielsson got control of the ball when João Vítor Bittencourt tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner ended in Davie McWhirter almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC LauB's Rutger Danielsson did a great save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by João Vítor Bittencourt in the 77th minute of play forced FC LauB's goalkeeper Rutger Danielsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ander Lepist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Innes McWalter made a huge save. In the 85th minute of the match Gavião Kyikatejê got a corner. FC LauB's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Davie McWhirter ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 89th minute Augusto da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Innes McWalter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mario Mendez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Innes McWalter came out and tried to block the shot, but Mario Mendez slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 96th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
