After having played for 3 minutes, Iván Zamorano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ninjas in Pyjamas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iván Zamorano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Constantino Colombres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelian Zogreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ninjas in Pyjamas's Daniel Tjernström got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Constantino Colombres was a little too slow when Iván Zamorano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 21st minute, Iván Zamorano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Atauri Fermoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►►'s supporters rose to their feet, but Atauri Fermoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanimir Dragnev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the game, ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►►'s Ronaldo Tendiero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stanimir Dragnev made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Iván Zamorano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Constantino Colombres didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 43rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 50th minute, Jerônimo Lira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 51st minute, Ronaldo Tendiero made a precise shot to the right of Stanimir Dragnev. Ninjas in Pyjamas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Aurelian Zogreanu kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Aurelian Zogreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Ninjas in Pyjamas got a freekick which was hit by Iván Zamorano. After some careless play in the ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►► defense, Iván Zamorano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Constantino Colombres. The ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►► fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Constantino Colombres should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute, Aurelian Zogreanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►► booed when Ninjas in Pyjamas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Klemensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Grabiel Manurga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, Iván Zamorano made a precise shot to the right of Constantino Colombres. ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►►'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. Xulio Riego made in the 88th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ninjas in Pyjamas's Marco Marchetti. Fabio Urdiñola lost his temper 90 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 89 minutes into the game, one of ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►►:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Ninjas in Pyjamas. Jerônimo Lira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Constantino Colombres. 5-3. After 97 played minutes Ninjas in Pyjamas got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Klemensson. Ninjas in Pyjamas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
