After a rather tough play, Itapema's José Augusto Pernambucano got a free kick in the 47th minute.

Vitório Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermengildo Rufio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amos Maietta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Alejandro Truylos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lázaro Peru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Vitório Massa made a huge save.
