The Granate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Palmquist should have stopped the shot. If Daniel Lluques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 13th minute, Eriberto Olando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Granate's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Lluques came free, but Jonathan Palmquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Palmquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Lluques in the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Granate's Joaquin Ezkerra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Simon Beltran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Granate's goal looked a bit too open when Ambrosio Herena came free, but Jonathan Palmquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Lluques took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Palmquist. In the 30th minute, Fabio Lore got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Simon Beltran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernan Chepe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Furia Calamar's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Filiberto Rubio was slow to take the kick. During this time Granate's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Granate's Lucio Serapio got a free kick in the 45th minute. Jonathan Palmquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Lluques in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ladislao Columbo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Granate booed when Furia Calamar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herminio Semeno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erubiel Matthew scored 0-3 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Palmquist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Granate getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ladislao Columbo hit a great ball. Ambrosio Herena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Furia Calamar made a substitution. Jacinto Berasko replaced Herminio Semeno. Jonathan Palmquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Lluques, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Gustavo Resto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Beltran having to interfere. Ronaldo Martínez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Palmquist having to interfere. Jonathan Palmquist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ambrosio Herena in the 74th minute. Simon Beltran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The Furia Calamar players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
