Spectators: 155 (Terracing: 117, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hugo Sánchez took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo Santiago's zone, Arnaldo Intxixu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santino Mora came out of the goal and Arnaldo Intxixu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the game, one of Club Deportivo Santiago:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Club Deportivo Santiago:s Santino Mora showed great skill when he stopped Humberto Iraitz:s penalty. 14 minutes into the match, GUSESI's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Loarte came free, but Santos Kiliz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The GUSESI fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when GUSESI's Hugo Sánchez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Loarte in the 21st minute of play forced GUSESI's goalkeeper Santos Kiliz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, GUSESI's Tiburcio Cuartio got a free kick in the 25th minute. Arturo Montiel struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Santos Kiliz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportivo Santiago. GUSESI's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Evelio Terres scored to the left of an out of position Santos Kiliz, making the score, 1-1. The supporters of Club Deportivo Santiago booed when GUSESI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Intxixu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paco Gento kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, GUSESI's Paco Gento got a free kick in the 38th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arturo Montiel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Zuberoa Mesia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Hugo Sánchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santino Mora saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd match minute, Club Deportivo Santiago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Meca to maneuver through the defense. Club Deportivo Santiago's Santino Mora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dieter Muller in the 62nd minute of play. Zuberoa Mesia took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santos Kiliz. Santos Kiliz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When Dieter Muller came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the GUSESI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dieter Muller couldn't finish the play. Pedro Loarte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zeru Mendana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santos Kiliz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evelio Terres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evelio Terres hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 85th match minute, GUSESI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Eneko to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Montiel in the 86th minute of play forced GUSESI's goalkeeper Santos Kiliz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Evelio Terres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hugo Sánchez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Santino Mora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Deportivo Santiago's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
