A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, Fox Hunting Squad's Gilles Philippaerts got a free kick in the 36th minute. Cornel Voinescu shot the penalty kick right outside the post. With an all-out effort, Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's Mats Van Elsen threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nae Amuguroancei, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Horea Neguțu in the 81st minute of play forced Fox Hunting Squad's goalkeeper Mats Van Elsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mats Van Elsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costel Vieru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the match, Costel Vieru had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mats Van Elsen. Fox Hunting Squad's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Costel Vieru was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely fully deserved thier win.
