In the 14th match minute, Guarei FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan de Senna to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute Adolf van Goetsenhoven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Francisco Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niki Van Hoeyvelt in the 21st minute of play. After some careless play in the Guarei FC defense, Nickolas Van Turnhout kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Francisco Costa. The Guarei FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Francisco Costa should have stopped the shot. After the first half KFC Paal-Tervant were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

59 minutes into the match, Guarei FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bartjan Parmentier came free, but João Francisco Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 61st play minutes Bartjan Parmentier shot 0-6, a short shot which went by João Francisco Costa and just under the crossbar into goal. 64 minutes into the match, Guarei FC's goalkeeper João Francisco Costa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nickolas Van Turnhout. After 67 minutes of play, KFC Paal-Tervant's Niki Van Hoeyvelt made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Francisco Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 70th minute, KFC Paal-Tervant's Niki Van Hoeyvelt ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind João Francisco Costa. João Francisco Costa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-8. João Francisco Costa made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Niki Van Hoeyvelt sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Bartjan Parmentier took a quick shot and it went in 0-9 without a chance for João Francisco Costa to make any attempt to save it. 80 minutes into the match, Nickolas Van Turnhout notched a goal, 0-10, to the right of Guarei FC's João Francisco Costa. João Francisco Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. João Francisco Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartjan Parmentier in the 84th minute of the match. Guarei FC's João Francisco Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nickolas Van Turnhout in the 86th minute of play. Willem-Jan Steuckens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarbas Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enzo Van Beringen scored 0-11 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Francisco Costa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nickolas Van Turnhout in the 96th minute of play forced Guarei FC's goalkeeper João Francisco Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. KFC Paal-Tervant walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
