In the 15th minute, Give Peace a Chance's Frido Stumpf dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Botafogo AP's Percy Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frido Stumpf in the 17th minute of play. Lu Sang had several of the Botafogo AP's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 20 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Percy Reis as he didn't even see the shot coming. Kay Wering received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Percy Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Lu Sang got free in front of the goal in the 28th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Percy Reis was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Give Peace a Chance's Kay Wering sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Percy Reis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Percy Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lennie Langhammer in the 40th minute of play. Godo Jaffke's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percy Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. A hard shot by Godo Jaffke from long distance, 43 minutes into the match, got Percy Reis's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lu Sang in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Percy Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lu Sang made a kick off. Percy Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lu Sang in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goal looked a bit too open when Lennie Langhammer came free, but Percy Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lu Sang in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Percy Reis saved Botafogo AP from getting behind. Percy Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kay Wering, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lu Sang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Percy Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Botafogo AP's Frank Goiano was substituted for José Pedro Coelho. Percy Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godo Jaffke in the 70th minute of the match.
