Abelardo Lesardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gutierre Chamorro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the match, LOI's goal looked a bit too open when Yuan Jian Hai came free, but Abelardo Lesardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute, Gutierre Chamorro made a precise shot to the right of Abelardo Lesardo. LOI's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuan Jian Hai in the 14th minute of play forced LOI's goalkeeper Abelardo Lesardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Babür Gürgen notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Real Unión CF's Emanuel Neuer. Emanuel Neuer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Babür Gürgen in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Neuer saved Real Unión CF from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Real Unión CF's Xulian Curro got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 26th minute of the match, Babür Gürgen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Emanuel Neuer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. LOI's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hikmet Şafakgün in the 27th minute. Battal Gazi Rehber made a great header on LOI's corner, it was just that Real Unión CF's Emanuel Neuer managed to reach the ball for a save. After 28 played minutes LOI got a freekick which was hit by Bektaş Ali Gariboğlu. Babür Gürgen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuel Neuer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute LOI were awarded a corner. Hikmet Şafakgün went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to LOI's Babür Gürgen getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The supporters of Real Unión CF booed when LOI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Barış Yarlık didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abelardo Lesardo came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Real Unión CF's Gutierre Chamorro. But to his dismay, Gutierre Chamorro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. A collision led to Real Unión CF getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Lu Hai Cheng hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yanne Callaerts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Yuan Jian Hai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Unión CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LOI the free kick. In the 51st match minute, Real Unión CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuan Jian Hai to maneuver through the defense. In the 54thth minute of the game Babür Gürgen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Unión CF's Emanuel Neuer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Babür Gürgen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Emanuel Neuer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Babür Gürgen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuel Neuer was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. The supporters of LOI booed when Real Unión CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xulian Curro didn't get a good kick on the ball. LOI's Rickard Thidén was substituted for Babür Gürgen. Rickard Thidén might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emanuel Neuer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rickard Thidén ran back to his position shaking his head. Real Unión CF's Emanuel Neuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickard Thidén in the 74th minute of play. In the 76thth minute of the game Rickard Thidén who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Unión CF's Emanuel Neuer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of LOI booed when Real Unión CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Magnus Torsberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. LOI's Alp Yaşar was substituted for Faruk Bucuklu. Real Unión CF's Joaquim Valdueza was substituted for Sandalio Urquiaga. In the 89th minute Rickard Thidén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Neuer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of LOI booed when Real Unión CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Valdueza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Real Unión CF's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because LOI had won, even though Real Unión CF had held more of the ball.
