Adrian Springfält showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandez Quintairos, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernandez Quintairos in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adrian Springfält saved SJÖARED from getting behind. 19 minutes into the match, Gunnar Hellström notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Borussia Dortmund's Gombal Retana. Gombal Retana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Henrique Lampez kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. If Bermudo Mestre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gombal Retana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isak Qvarnström in the 31st minute of the match. After some careless play in the SJÖARED defense, Santikurtz Paza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adrian Springfält. The SJÖARED fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adrian Springfält should have stopped the shot. In the 45th minute, Rami Tolentin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, SJÖARED's Tim Hellbom tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 48th minute, Bermudo Mestre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isak Qvarnström to make the kick off. SJÖARED's Adrian Springfält proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save SJÖARED from getting a goal against them. Gombal Retana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urban Rudberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernandez Quintairos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Adrian Springfält tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SJÖARED's Dan Finnman was substituted for Tim Hellbom. SJÖARED made a substitution. Peder Nyqvist replaced Roger Bålström. If Santikurtz Paza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. Gombal Retana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Helge Gustafsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Erland Martinsson charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erland Martinsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SJÖARED getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 88 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Rami Tolentin. In the 89th minute of the match Erland Martinsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gombal Retana skillfully saved the ball. The SJÖARED manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Borussia Dortmund to win.
