After 5 minutes, Oscar Lassiter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Creekers and the SAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 played minutes Creekers got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Lassiter. In the 8th minute, Sidnei Peres reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tommie Kirkpatrick. The goal made the score 1-0. After 12 played minutes SAS got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Mendonça. If Fred Renteria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chiquinho de Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After 21 minutes of play, Creekers's Fred Renteria made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giuseppe Couto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tommie Kirkpatrick made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Mendonça in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute, Creekers's Oscar Lassiter seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Oscar Lassiter the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Creekers protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Oscar Lassiter had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Creekers getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Oscar Lassiter hit a great ball. Agnaldo Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Hélder Trancoso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tommie Kirkpatrick. That made the score 2-1 in the 32 minute of play. Giuseppe Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gary Gamble, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Creekers's Gary Gamble got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Creekers's goalkeeper Tommie Kirkpatrick had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélder Trancoso. In the 43rd match minute, Creekers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Keene to maneuver through the defense. Tommie Kirkpatrick made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Oscar Mendonça sent off a good shot on target. Tommie Kirkpatrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Cardoso in the 46th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Hélder Trancoso took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Tommie Kirkpatrick to make any attempt to save it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alec Harmon was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Agnaldo Araújo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommie Kirkpatrick was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 56th minute, Hélder Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Creekers getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Gary Gamble hit a great ball. Tommie Kirkpatrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Trancoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Tommie Kirkpatrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Gustavo Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute, Jorge Trevisan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommie Kirkpatrick was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Gary Gamble fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giuseppe Couto having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Agnaldo Araújo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommie Kirkpatrick was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. After some careless play in the Creekers defense, Oscar Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommie Kirkpatrick. The Creekers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommie Kirkpatrick should have stopped the shot. In the 85th minute, Agnaldo Araújo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SAS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-1. Luís Gustavo Cardoso took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommie Kirkpatrick. Tommie Kirkpatrick dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-1. Tommie Kirkpatrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Gustavo Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Creekers's Tommie Kirkpatrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Mendonça in the 97th minute of play. SAS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
