Orlando Chepe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alex Aleixo went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Alexandrino Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Chepe having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Alex Aleixo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 22 minutes into the game, Hydra's Silverio Abeitia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicolau Vilarinho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 25 minutes into the game, Hydra's Primitivo Fernado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bacardi Black Bats's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hydra the free kick. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orlando Chepe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Norberto Claude charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norberto Claude the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 45th minute of the match Alexandrino Gomes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Orlando Chepe showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half Hydra were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Aleixo was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Azubeli in the 59th minute of play forced Bacardi Black Bats's goalkeeper Nicolau Vilarinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orlando Chepe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Aleixo in the 64th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amadeo Brun during the 64th minute. After some careless play in the Bacardi Black Bats defense, Marco Tiadoro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicolau Vilarinho. The Bacardi Black Bats fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicolau Vilarinho should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Aleixo in the 85th minute of play forced Hydra's goalkeeper Orlando Chepe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
