António Carmo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Favoretto in the 12th minute of the match. If Donato Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Wilson Favoretto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. António Carmo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in SC Bertioga's zone, Cesário Quintanilha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro de Mendonça was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pedro de Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jordão Trindade's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. SC Bertioga's Wilson Favoretto got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 85 minutes of play, Eureka's Telmo Seixas made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro de Mendonça was left in no man's land by his defense there! 88 minutes into the match, Eureka's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Favoretto came free, but António Carmo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 89 in the game by Wilson Favoretto from a close distance when the talented António Carmo managed to make a qualified save. Eureka's players were relieved. After some careless play in the SC Bertioga defense, Telmo Seixas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro de Mendonça. The SC Bertioga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro de Mendonça should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Eureka fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Bertioga had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
