In the 3rd minute, Radowit Hetman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AEK FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Per-Olof Kihlberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Radowit Hetman in the 5th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Radowit Hetman got free with Per-Olof Kihlberg in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 6 minutes into the match, FORTALEZA's goalkeeper Per-Olof Kihlberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Radowit Hetman. When Roald Djupvik fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AEK FC's protests and gave Roald Djupvik a yellow card for diving instead. Roald Djupvik kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Per-Olof Kihlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Endre Bjørheim, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 17th minute, Dmitry Yakubovsky hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to FORTALEZA getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Vasily Stahanovich hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FORTALEZA's goalkeeper Per-Olof Kihlberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Ståle Skogli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg got control of the ball when Radowit Hetman tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasily Stahanovich in the 30th minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Finn Eidsvåg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Dmitry Yakubovsky had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Finn Eidsvåg. AEK FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dmitry Yakubovsky was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Per-Olof Kihlberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Endre Bjørheim in the 34th minute of play. With an all-out effort, AEK FC's Per-Olof Kihlberg threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Endre Bjørheim, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 39th minute of the match AEK FC got a corner. FORTALEZA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adam Svenning ran over to the corner to take the kick. Radowit Hetman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Per-Olof Kihlberg made a huge save. Per-Olof Kihlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ståle Skogli, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute AEK FC were awarded a corner. Adam Svenning went to the cornerflag to take it. AEK FC's Adam Svenning was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Per-Olof Kihlberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to AEK FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Israel Petri hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dmitry Yakubovsky made a kick off. Abdi Malkoçoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute, Israel Petri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Per-Olof Kihlberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Per-Olof Kihlberg didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when AEK FC's Radowit Hetman shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Abdi Malkoçoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radowit Hetman in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Per-Olof Kihlberg saved FORTALEZA from getting behind. FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Israel Petri in the 69th minute of play. Israel Petri scored 4-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Per-Olof Kihlberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Israel Petri struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Per-Olof Kihlberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AEK FC. After a rather tough play, AEK FC's Roald Djupvik got a free kick in the 76th minute. 77 minutes into the game, Radowit Hetman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AEK FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FORTALEZA the free kick. In the 78th match minute, AEK FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radowit Hetman to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to AEK FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Espen Heltne hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, AEK FC's Espen Heltne got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in FORTALEZA's zone, Israel Petri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Per-Olof Kihlberg came out of the goal and Israel Petri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 88 minutes into the match, FORTALEZA's goal looked a bit too open when Endre Bjørheim came free, but Per-Olof Kihlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Abdi Malkoçoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When AEK FC's Endre Bjørheim in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FORTALEZA's goalie prevented a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the FORTALEZA players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AEK FC.
