In the 5th minute of the match Alfredo Emeterio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gregorio Garikoitz skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nunez Savier in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celedonio Saturnin saved CACYFA from getting behind. A collision led to CACYFA getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Jaime Dominguez hit a great ball. Gregorio Garikoitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolando Zárate, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute of the game, Jaime Dominguez landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Santos Borre's late challenge caught a CACYFA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santos Borre helped the player get up and apologised. Santos Borre hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute, Jacobo Herauso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute of the match, Jacobo Herauso tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Celedonio Saturnin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After having played for 51 minutes, Rolando Zárate managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CACYFA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rolando Zárate was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 52nd match minute, Unidad de Matanza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Rioja to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute Rodrigo Aznaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregorio Garikoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gregorio Garikoitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Emeterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 61 minutes Unidad de Matanza's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alfredo Emeterio who took care of the corner kick. Adolfo Reyes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celedonio Saturnin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Gregorio Garikoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albano Lando in the 67th minute of play. In the 77th minute of the match Jose Muno sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celedonio Saturnin skillfully saved the ball. After 82 played minutes CACYFA got a freekick which was hit by Benicio Mundo. Celedonio Saturnin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacobo Herauso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albano Lando during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Unidad de Matanza booed when CACYFA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Lando didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute of the match Santos Borre shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celedonio Saturnin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rolando Zárate struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Gregorio Garikoitz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CACYFA. For all the effort they put into the match, the CACYFA players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Unidad de Matanza.
