The corner led Botafogo MZRJ's Murillo Loureiro to fire away a dangerous shot which Celedonio Saturnin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Siro Menendo hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matías Brasil got free with Celedonio Saturnin in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Celedonio Saturnin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matías Brasil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celedonio Saturnin was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Matías Brasil capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Matías Brasil really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After having played for 26 minutes, Josué Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botafogo MZRJ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josué Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celedonio Saturnin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matías Brasil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Emeterio in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Férid Khalifa saved Botafogo MZRJ from getting behind. Celedonio Saturnin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matías Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. When Anderson Barral fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Botafogo MZRJ's protests and gave Anderson Barral a yellow card for diving instead. Josué Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Emeterio in the 39th minute of play forced Botafogo MZRJ's goalkeeper Férid Khalifa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Férid Khalifa didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when CACYFA's Rolando Zárate shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Emeterio made a kick off. In the 55th minute Matías Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Saturnin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, CACYFA's Alfredo Emeterio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Férid Khalifa. Férid Khalifa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matías Brasil in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celedonio Saturnin saved CACYFA from getting behind. After 72 played minutes Botafogo MZRJ got a freekick which was hit by Marquinhos das Neves. In the 80th minute Matías Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Saturnin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Matías Brasil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Celedonio Saturnin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 91st minute, Matías Brasil made a precise shot to the right of Celedonio Saturnin. CACYFA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-2. After 95 minutes, Nando Tande mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo MZRJ and the CACYFA players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Botafogo MZRJ's Nando Tande got a free kick in the 95th minute. CACYFA's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
