Geovânio de Medeiros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Igor Mota to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Waldir Marquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bandeca FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Puerto Quito the free kick. In the 51st match minute, Bandeca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldir Marquez to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Geovânio de Medeiros managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Bandeca FC's Igor Mota fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 78th minute Durvalino Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Bandeca FC's Márcio de Salles got a free kick in the 80th minute. Kléberson Soeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Piña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Club Puerto Quito's Geovânio de Medeiros got control of the ball when Durvalino Salles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bandeca FC's Kléberson Soeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Larrieta in the 85th minute of play. Durvalino Salles's late challenge caught a Club Puerto Quito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Durvalino Salles helped the player get up and apologised. After 89 played minutes Bandeca FC got a freekick which was hit by Durvalino Salles.
