Spectators: 191 (Terracing: 144, Seating: 44, VIP seats: 3) Club Puerto Quito's Marcelo Noceda started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Omiros Kaloumenoss short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Geovânio de Medeiros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 7 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Noceda came free, but Manos Melogiannis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manos Melogiannis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Larrieta in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of Club Puerto Quito booed when Sheriff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giorgos Samoladas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geovânio de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitris Kapopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. It was a well-played corner which Vassilis Marianos managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dimitris Kapopoulos in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geovânio de Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Dimitris Kapopoulos sped through Club Puerto Quito's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Geovânio de Medeiros. Armando Larrieta kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Omiros Kaloumenos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sheriff fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 29th minute Omiros Kaloumenos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sergio Piña charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sergio Piña the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sergio Piña hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Manos Melogiannis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Larrieta, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Geovânio de Medeiros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dimitris Kapopoulos went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Club Puerto Quito's Geovânio de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimitris Kapopoulos in the 41st minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Omiros Kaloumenos made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Omiros Kaloumenos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geovânio de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omiros Kaloumenos in the 54th minute of play. Geovânio de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandros Vikelidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 69th match minute, Club Puerto Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Narbona to maneuver through the defense. Club Puerto Quito's Geovânio de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimitris Kapopoulos in the 70th minute of play. Alexandros Vikelidis charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexandros Vikelidis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 82nd minute, Alexandros Vikelidis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Club Puerto Quito were furious when Arturo Azpiazu was red carded, 85 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Puerto Quito fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! Geovânio de Medeiros had in the 86thth minute some difficulties stopping Dimitris Kapopoulos's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 89 minutes Club Puerto Quito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Menios Barbagiannis who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Dimitris Kapopoulos heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Sheriff's Giorgos Samoladas got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Giorgos Samoladas off the ground. In the 98th minute Armando Larrieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manos Melogiannis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Puerto Quito's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
