The coaching staff of Joystick XXXV protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Esteban Solustiano had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 9th minute, one of Joystick XXXV:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Joystick XXXV. A collision led to Lyons getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Mario Ricart hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Victoriano Ferran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sergio Goycochea. Joystick XXXV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victoriano Ferran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jonathan Remigio came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Benedicto Maule could save by the left post. 20 minutes into the match, Lyons's goalkeeper Benedicto Maule had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan Remigio. Joystick XXXV's Santos Frascuelo got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joystick XXXV's Sergio Goycochea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Ibar in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austin Muller in the 46th minute of play forced Joystick XXXV's goalkeeper Sergio Goycochea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Guillermo Gizon hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd minute Clodoveo Llanos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Goycochea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Joystick XXXV's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Ibar came free, but Sergio Goycochea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honorio Beila hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute, Honorio Beila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcelo Jerano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Maule having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Austin Muller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergio Goycochea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Quirze in the 87th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the game, Emilio Peru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lyons's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joystick XXXV the free kick. After 93 played minutes Lyons got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Peru.
