Palermo's Teofilo Federigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aatto Hänninen in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute Rafael Hondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juha Jokiranta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teofilo Federigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kustaa Vappula, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Teofilo Federigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aatto Hänninen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Uriel Georgiev got a free kick in the 29th minute. Manchester United FC's Juha Jokiranta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Gaufred in the 32nd minute of play. If Patryk Wiater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teofilo Federigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aatto Hänninen in the 36th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Taito Tuulola got free with Teofilo Federigo in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manchester United FC's Kustaa Vappula couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Palermo. Taito Tuulola kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th match minute, Manchester United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santtu Pietiläinen to maneuver through the defense. Juha Jokiranta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Hondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Taito Tuulola was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Taito Tuulola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Teofilo Federigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aatto Hänninen's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Aatto Hänninen sped through Palermo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Teofilo Federigo. After some careless play in the Manchester United FC defense, Patryk Wiater kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juha Jokiranta. The Manchester United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juha Jokiranta should have stopped the shot. In the 58th minute, Lorenzo Ongile hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teofilo Federigo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After 86 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Herkko Ahokorpi. In the 88th minute Aatto Hänninen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofilo Federigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patryk Wiater in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juha Jokiranta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kustaa Vappula hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Juha Jokiranta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicanor Gaufred in the 92nd minute. Manchester United FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
