After a defensive mix-up in Santos FC's zone, Juan Nieva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jim Mitchell came out of the goal and Juan Nieva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reyes Ritter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Lehen Villamor made a huge save. With a little luck, Fútbol Club Insaar's Lehen Villamor got control of the ball when Reyes Ritter tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Juan Nieva sped through Santos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jim Mitchell. In the 22nd minute, Juan Nieva made a precise shot to the right of Jim Mitchell. Santos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Raúl Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Reyes Ritter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lehen Villamor was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Santos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fútbol Club Insaar were winning 1-2.

Reyes Ritter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lehen Villamor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reyes Ritter in the 57th minute of the match. Lehen Villamor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuseppe Jewell in the 58th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Juan Nieva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fútbol Club Insaar's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Nieva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Mitchell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lehen Villamor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Desmond Rowell, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute, Isaac Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute Reyes Ritter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lehen Villamor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the game, Raúl Ribeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fútbol Club Insaar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos FC the free kick. In the 84th match minute, Fútbol Club Insaar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the game, Victor Hess was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fútbol Club Insaar the free kick. A collision led to Santos FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. After 90 played minutes, Santos FC's Thanh Darden shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lehen Villamor came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Santos FC reached it. Desmond Rowell spun around in front of the goal 92 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Fútbol Club Insaar's goal. Juan Nievas short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Jim Mitchell to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Domingos Guillelmus came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Fútbol Club Insaar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingos Guillelmus couldn't finish the play. The Fútbol Club Insaar supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fútbol Club Insaar would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
