The audience thought a goal was coming when Lembit Nurmela got free with Daniel Mik in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Mik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kalle Käbin's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Lembit Nurmela sped through FC Barcelona's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Daniel Mik. In the 22nd minute Jindřich Vedral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elar Villems saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Barcelona's Daniel Mik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kalle Käbin in the 23rd minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jindřich Vedral to make the kick off.
