VIEDMA FC's Amancio Herensuge spiked a well placed long shot which went just inside the left pole, with no chance at all for João Massa. Resulting in a 1-0 score after 5 minutes. In the 8th minute Gigel Seremet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvestre Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvestre Machado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nelson Mendoza's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. VIEDMA FC's Silvestre Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigel Seremet in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute Therkild Prendorf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvestre Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Domingos Ariando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Therkild Prendorf notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of VIEDMA FC's Silvestre Machado. Silvestre Machado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nelson Mendoza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 minutes, Nelson Mendoza made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. VIEDMA FC's Silvestre Machado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The VIEDMA FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. UFC STEAUA were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domingos Ariando stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Silvestre Machado managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when UFC STEAUA's Nelson Mendoza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Therkild Prendorf came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the UFC STEAUA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Therkild Prendorf couldn't finish the play. If Nelson Mendoza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Gigel Seremet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gervásio Vilhena was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 65 minutes of play, UFC STEAUA's Nelson Mendoza made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silvestre Machado was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nelson Mendoza in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvestre Machado saved VIEDMA FC from getting behind. João Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Federico Leheren, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Şamil Darcan kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Domingos Ariando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. João Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When UFC STEAUA's Therkild Prendorf in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
