Diederick Van den Plas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Diederick Van den Plas came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Khachatryan's Grigor Grigoryan. But to his dismay, Grigor Grigoryan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grigor Grigoryan in the 11th minute of play forced Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goalkeeper Diederick Van den Plas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Royal Antwerp F.C. were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Khachatryan's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Henri-Xavier Imbereghs took the corner. In the 15th match minute, Royal Antwerp F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thys Konings to maneuver through the defense. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Diederick Van den Plas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grigor Grigoryan in the 16th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Arin Mndoyants left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Khachatryan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 24 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Grigor Grigoryan came free, but Diederick Van den Plas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 minutes, Wesley Hollanders mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Royal Antwerp F.C. and the Khachatryan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wesley Hollanders hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Grigor Grigoryan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diederick Van den Plas was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. 28 minutes into the game, Yves Justens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Khachatryan the free kick. Yves Justens kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Grigor Grigoryan came free, but Diederick Van den Plas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Avetisyan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thys Konings in the 34th minute of play forced Khachatryan's goalkeeper Tigran Balayan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Wawrzyniec Budrewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 38 played minutes Royal Antwerp F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Wannes Tielemans. Diederick Van den Plas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigor Grigoryan in the 40th minute of the match. After 42 played minutes Royal Antwerp F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Yves Justens. Diederick Van den Plas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grigor Grigoryan in the 46th minute of play. A collision led to Royal Antwerp F.C. getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Yves Justens hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arin Mndoyants made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Khachatryan's Arin Mndoyants slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Diederick Van den Plas. That made the score 0-4 after 53 minutes of play. Grigor Grigoryan in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Diederick Van den Plas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 58 minutes into the match, Grigor Grigoryan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diederick Van den Plas. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grigor Grigoryan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Khachatryan made a substitution. Remigiusz Adamus replaced Nico Tagliafico. Khachatryan's Arno Martirosyan was substituted for Abel Avetisyan. Thanks to some nice moves Grigor Grigoryan could shoot a difficult shot in the 63rd minute, which Diederick Van den Plas however easily saved by the left post. 63 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goalkeeper Diederick Van den Plas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Grigor Grigoryan. The supporters of Khachatryan booed when Royal Antwerp F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yves Justens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diederick Van den Plas was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Cesar Holland capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cesar Holland really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. Arno Martirosyan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Diederick Van den Plas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, Grigor Grigoryan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diederick Van den Plas. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grigor Grigoryan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. Grigor Grigoryan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diederick Van den Plas having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Florei in the 91st minute of play forced Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goalkeeper Diederick Van den Plas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Khachatryan's Grigor Grigoryan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-10.
