In the 15th minute Wannes Tielemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Kazanowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eugeniusz Ankiewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After 18 minutes of play, Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Thys Konings made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stefan Kazanowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 24th match minute, Wisła Kraków was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugeniusz Ankiewicz to maneuver through the defense. Henri-Xavier Imbereghs's late challenge caught a Wisła Kraków's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henri-Xavier Imbereghs helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Royal Antwerp F.C. getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Henri-Xavier Imbereghs hit a great ball. Stefan Kazanowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thys Konings in the 31st minute of play. Wisła Kraków's Wasyl Ludzia quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Reemy Van Goitsenhoven, made in the 34th minute of the game. Stefan Kazanowski came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Thys Konings. But to his dismay, Thys Konings quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 39 minutes in the game Conrad Rauvoe did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Thys Konings. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thys Konings in the 40th minute of play forced Wisła Kraków's goalkeeper Stefan Kazanowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thys Konings in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefan Kazanowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stefan Kazanowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thys Konings in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Zenon Jaroszewicz made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Wisła Kraków booed when Royal Antwerp F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yves Justens didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute Yves Justens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Kazanowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefan Kazanowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thys Konings in the 59th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Wisła Kraków's goalkeeper Stefan Kazanowski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wannes Tielemans. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Diederick Van den Plas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zenon Jaroszewicz in the 70th minute of play. After 75 minutes, Waclaw Daszkowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wisła Kraków and the Royal Antwerp F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Wisła Kraków's Waclaw Daszkowski got a free kick in the 76th minute. 77 minutes into the game, Szymon Dudzik was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wisła Kraków's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Royal Antwerp F.C. the free kick. Szymon Dudzik hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After having played for 78 minutes, Henri-Xavier Imbereghs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Henri-Xavier Imbereghs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wisła Kraków's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Wannes Tielemans scored to the left of an out of position Stefan Kazanowski, making the score, 0-7. A hard and well directed shot from Henri-Xavier Imbereghs led 84 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Wisła Kraków's Stefan Kazanowski became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-8. After 88 played minutes Wisła Kraków got a freekick which was hit by Eugeniusz Ankiewicz. Stefan Kazanowski was out of position in the 96 minute of play, and Yves Justens capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Yves Justens really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9.
