After some careless play in the Zamalek FC defense, Béla Koplárovics kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Merlin Dolan. The Zamalek FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Merlin Dolan should have stopped the shot. After 28 minutes, Eli Christensen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zamalek FC and the Pénzügyőr SE players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eli Christensen hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Pénzügyőr SE's Ferenc Berta got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Ferenc Berta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Merlin Dolan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. After 37 minutes, Paul De La Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zamalek FC and the Pénzügyőr SE players grew even worse after the yellow card. Attila Kis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Merlin Dolan. Zamalek FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Merlin Dolan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferenc Berta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tamás Szepesi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Merlin Dolan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. In the 83rdth minute of the game Ferenc Berta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zamalek FC's Merlin Dolan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Pénzügyőr SE's Béla Koplárovics, in the 85th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Pénzügyőr SE. Pénzügyőr SE's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
