The referee ignored Zamalek FC's protests and gave Carson Sherrill a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Carson Sherrill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Merlin Dolan stood somewhat misplaced when Saturnino Quiroga came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 6 minute. Sixto Etxeberri came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Merlin Dolan could save by the left post. A collision led to Machine Gun Kelly getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Esteve Benet hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Esteve Benet could shoot a difficult shot in the 13th minute, which Merlin Dolan however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, Zamalek FC's Malcolm Neal got a free kick in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Saturnino Quiroga notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Zamalek FC's Merlin Dolan. Merlin Dolan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Saturnino Quiroga in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Merlin Dolan saved Zamalek FC from getting behind. 30 minutes into the match, Zamalek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Quiroga came free, but Merlin Dolan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esteve Benet hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 33 minutes, Evaristo Gaufred mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Machine Gun Kelly and the Zamalek FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Evaristo Gaufred hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Machine Gun Kelly getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Hugo Txeru hit a great ball. In the 38th minute of the match, Esteve Benet got a very nice opportunity to score, but Merlin Dolan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Zamalek FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Saturnino Quiroga scored to the left of an out of position Merlin Dolan, making the score, 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Malcolm Neal to strike the kick off in the second half. Merlin Dolan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saturnino Quiroga, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Merlin Dolan came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Machine Gun Kelly's Saturnino Quiroga. But to his dismay, Saturnino Quiroga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 57th minute, Saturnino Quiroga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Machine Gun Kelly fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. In the 62ndth minute of the game Saturnino Quiroga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zamalek FC's Merlin Dolan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Merlin Dolan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnino Quiroga in the 63rd minute of play. Merlin Dolan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saturnino Quiroga, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Saturnino Quiroga put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Merlin Dolan. Flavio Sayveon's late challenge caught a Zamalek FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flavio Sayveon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute, Flavio Sayveon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zamalek FC's Carson Sherrill got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
