Dre Schipmans took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Daniel Jienescu. Daniel Jienescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind GoalHunters's goalkeeper Daniel Jienescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sport Club Mavericks were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after GoalHunters's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sílvio Luiz de Godoi took the corner. After having played for 26 minutes, Dre Schipmans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Club Mavericks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dre Schipmans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Jienescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dre Schipmans, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 42nd minute Zézinho Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Jienescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Jienescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zézinho Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Sport Club Mavericks were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after GoalHunters's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sílvio Luiz de Godoi took the corner. The corner led Sport Club Mavericks's Sílvio Luiz de Godoi to fire away a dangerous shot which Daniel Jienescu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Călin Pătrășconiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sport Club Mavericks's Arnaldo Baiano was substituted for Marcus Pinho. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Gaúcho was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes, Xiao Jing Fan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GoalHunters and the Sport Club Mavericks players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, GoalHunters's Xiao Jing Fan got a free kick in the 55th minute. Sport Club Mavericks made a substitution. Zhuo Yin Hong replaced Dre Schipmans. Xiao Jing Fan made in the 59th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Liu Yu Ning immediately put the ball in play. In the 60th match minute, GoalHunters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Călin Pătrășconiu came free, but Marcelo Gröhe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to GoalHunters getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Leontin Traianescu hit a great ball. Zhuo Yin Hong scored 1-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniel Jienescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Jienescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zhuo Yin Hong in the 73rd minute. 74 minutes into the match, GoalHunters's goalkeeper Daniel Jienescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zhuo Yin Hong. After a rather tough play, GoalHunters's Bhadrayu Sethi got a free kick in the 74th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Sílvio Luiz de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Club Mavericks's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luiz de Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Jienescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcelo Gröhe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Jerrold in the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Călin Pătrășconiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Gröhe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 80 minutes of play GoalHunters's Xiao Jing Fan was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Sport Club Mavericks booed when GoalHunters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xiao Jing Fan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Jienescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhuo Yin Hong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Marcelo Gröhe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Călin Pătrășconiu in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Gröhe saved Sport Club Mavericks from getting behind. GoalHunters's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leontin Traianescu in the 91st minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sport Club Mavericks's goalie and right to Octav Stoicescu. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sport Club Mavericks's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The Sport Club Mavericks players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
