An unexpectedly hard shot by William Andries in the 9th minute of play forced Turkey's goalkeeper Cankut Wakabayashi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute of the match Rafik Oliwa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cankut Wakabayashi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Turgut Soyuer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Campens having to make a save. Cankut Wakabayashi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mbaka Mbolu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cankut Wakabayashi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Goolen in the 27th minute of play. A throw-in in the 30th minute of the game was made by Conny Komen with Rafik Oliwa as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Turgut Soyuer struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Manuel Campens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Turkey. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Goolen in the 39th minute of play forced Turkey's goalkeeper Cankut Wakabayashi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Leopold Van den Paenhuysen hit a great ball. Cankut Wakabayashi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Andries in the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mbaka Mbolu was the one to do the kick off. Mbaka Mbolu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Cankut Wakabayashi made a huge save. Cankut Wakabayashi came out of the goal and Niels Vandamme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Belgium's Armand Steenberghs was substituted for Billy Goolen. In the 70th minute Cuma Oruk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Campens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Campens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cuma Oruk in the 71st minute of play. In the 71st minute, Zé Dos Reis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Turkey fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 77th minute Zé Dos Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Campens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Dos Reis came free, but Manuel Campens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
