Curicó-Unido's Manuel Lameirinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Salles in the 5th minute of play. The supporters of AVAÍ F.C. booed when Curicó-Unido was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlondón Marileo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 12 played minutes Curicó-Unido got a freekick which was hit by Orlondón Marileo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Salles in the 13th minute of play forced Curicó-Unido's goalkeeper Manuel Lameirinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Osasun Leys left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Curicó-Unido fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manfredo Gerber in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Lameirinhas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Manfredo Gerber put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Manuel Lameirinhas. Alexandre Matamala kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Gerber in the 23rd minute of play forced Curicó-Unido's goalkeeper Manuel Lameirinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Osasun Leys's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jailson Teles was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osasun Leys made a kick off. Alexandre Matamala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Jailson Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dario Alegría could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Manuel Lameirinhas made a huge save. Manuel Lameirinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubens Cabral in the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match AVAÍ F.C. got a corner. Curicó-Unido's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luiz Pombal ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led AVAÍ F.C.'s Luiz Pombal to fire away a dangerous shot which Manuel Lameirinhas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jailson Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osasun Leys, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Lameirinhas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Walmyr Salles went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Jailson Teles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Matamala in the 61st minute of the match. If Orlondón Marileo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Curicó-Unido's Eduardo Vargas was substituted for Alexandre Matamala. Curicó-Unido's Juan Raúl Falcón was substituted for Visen Mattensohn. With a little luck, Curicó-Unido's Manuel Lameirinhas got control of the ball when Walmyr Salles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rubens Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 90th minute, Elías Albornoz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Curicó-Unido fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. The AVAÍ F.C. players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
