When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Ricardo Guerra sped through American Top Team's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Shawn Ashby. Januário Rangel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Sands, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Guerra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Shawn Ashby having to make a save. American Top Team's Shawn Ashby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Guerra in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the American Top Team defense, Ricardo Guerra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shawn Ashby. The American Top Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shawn Ashby should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Guerra made a kick off. American Top Team's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Ricardo Guerra scored to the left of an out of position Shawn Ashby, making the score, 0-7. After a defensive mix-up in American Top Team's zone, Ricardo Guerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shawn Ashby came out of the goal and Ricardo Guerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to American Top Team getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Stanley Houston hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the game, Julio-César Romo-Leroux cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-10. Shawn Ashby was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. American Top Team's Shawn Ashby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save American Top Team from getting a goal against them. Shawn Ashby came out of the goal and Ricardo Guerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Shawn Ashby made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Ricardo Guerra sent off a good shot on target. 84 minutes into the game, Ricardo Guerra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Shawn Ashby. Ricardo Guerra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-12. Shawn Ashby didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when MEXACOMX's Ricardo Guerra shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-13 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 95th play minute Ricardo Guerra came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Shawn Ashby. 0-14. The American Top Team fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. MEXACOMX were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
