An unexpectedly hard shot by Oğuzer Saye in the 9th minute of play forced FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC CSKA's Georgi Velinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick Shaw in the 11th minute of play. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oğuzer Saye, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 16 minutes into the match, FC CSKA's goal looked a bit too open when Justino Eusko came free, but Georgi Velinov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esteve Barto scored 2-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Georgi Velinov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Georgi Velinov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justino Eusko in the 23rd minute of play. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oğuzer Saye, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute Ruslan Dzhalev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Mateo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esteve Barto got free with Georgi Velinov in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 38 minutes into the game, Bradley de Nooijer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Cristian Mateo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristian Mateo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Georgi Dimitrov, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 43rd minute of play forced Fleetwood Town's goalkeeper Cristian Mateo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC CSKA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Bob Geldof scored to the left of an out of position Georgi Velinov, making the score, 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnulfo Roderigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bradley de Nooijer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Mateo having to interfere. Arnulfo Roderigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Cristian Mateo made a huge save. In the 59th minute Bob Geldof shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgi Velinov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Todor Yanchev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Fleetwood Town's goalkeeper Cristian Mateo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Asparuh Genovski. Cristian Mateo made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Asparuh Genovski sent off a good shot on target. Arnulfo Roderigo had several of the Fleetwood Town's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 82 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-3 score and a disappointed Cristian Mateo as he didn't even see the shot coming. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oğuzer Saye, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Asparuh Genovski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristian Mateo. Fleetwood Town's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Asparuh Genovski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC CSKA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
