Gremio Viana's Samuel Fiúza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Gremio Viana from getting a goal against them. After having played for 11 minutes, Karl-Heinz Kaltz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Cromvelde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Heinz Kaltz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Joaquim Paredes notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of KFC Cromvelde's Jean-Louis Van Bever. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Samuel Fiúza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dé 武松 in the 24th minute. Jean-Louis Van Bever showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 27 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Fabrizio Crognale. Samuel Fiúza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathijs Rokeloos in the 31st minute of the match. The throw-in from Eugenio Cirulli in the 33rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gremio Viana's Albi Koka. After 39 minutes KFC Cromvelde's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Augustin Panaiteanu who took care of the corner kick. Dé 武松 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, Herman Frans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute Mathijs Rokeloos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Fiúza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim Paredes to strike the kick off in the second half. Albi Koka kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Augustin Panaiteanu made a precise shot to the right of Jean-Louis Van Bever. KFC Cromvelde's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Jean-Louis Van Bever was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Carlos Luna showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 71 minute of play. Gremio Viana's Albi Koka managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by 沈笑伟 in the 83 minute of the game. Andries Vermeiren made in the 87th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gremio Viana's Mohamed Ali Bomba. If Herman Frans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. KFC Cromvelde's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Carlos Luna 93 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-5. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Samuel Fiúza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
