Raimundo Guimarães started the match with the kick off. 12 minutes into the match, Dromes FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Bomba came free, but Atilano Benat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by F.C. Paços de Ferreira's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Juan Pablo Rodríguez was slow to take the kick. During this time Dromes FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Dromes FC's corner Donato Sedeni fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Miguel Poças quite easily take care of the ball. Raimundo Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Miguel Poças didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dromes FC. Nicolae Hoisie made in the 27th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Inácio Secco immediately put the ball in play. The supporters of F.C. Paços de Ferreira booed when Dromes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimmy Wiley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Paços de Ferreira's zone, Raimundo Guimarães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Poças came out of the goal and Raimundo Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Franco Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Miguel Poças tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, Raimundo Guimarães lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Miguel Poças. The corner led F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Igor Tudor to fire away a dangerous shot which Atilano Benat despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The throw-in from João Maia in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Dromes FC's Juan Pablo Rodríguez. 44 minutes into the match, Dromes FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Bomba came free, but Atilano Benat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Bomba was the one to do the kick off. Dromes FC's attentive Jack Grealish managed to snatch the ball when Nicolae Hoisie made a throw-in in the 54th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Secco got free with Atilano Benat in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Bomba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 59 minutes into the match, Dromes FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Bomba came free, but Atilano Benat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Dromes FC's Atilano Benat got control of the ball when José Bomba tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Atilano Benat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Bomba in the 84th minute of the match. In the 86th minute F.C. Paços de Ferreira were awarded a corner. Igor Tudor went to the cornerflag to take it. Miguel Poças didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Humberto Lleir went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Miguel Poças showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Lleir, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute Bóas Pernas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Benat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
