In the 15th minute, Gabrielius Velička hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Geležinis Vilkas's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Jonasson came free, but Ovidijus Merkelis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute Deimantas Satkus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evert Mellberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute Geležinis Vilkas were awarded a corner. Eitautas Ivoška went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Geležinis Vilkas's Gabrielius Velička to fire away a dangerous shot which Evert Mellberg despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Geležinis Vilkas's attentive Augustas Pakula managed to snatch the ball when Tony Haegg made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. After 96 minutes of play, Geležinis Vilkas's Deimantas Satkus made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evert Mellberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Lions's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
