With a little luck, Cebollas's Sarracino De la Rosa got control of the ball when Gregorio Martinez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gaetano Mathieu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agamenón Gutierrez, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. When Agamenón Gutierrez came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Cebollas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agamenón Gutierrez couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the game, Domingos Isusko threw the ball into play from the sideline. Cebollas's Lluis Idiaquez quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 38th minute Freddy Sabin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sarracino De la Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Freddy Sabin made a kick off. Agamenón Gutierrez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Gaetano Mathieu made a huge save. In the 74th minute Resistencia were awarded a corner. Hugo Bakker went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Gregorio Martinez heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 77th minute, Hugo Bakker made a precise shot to the right of Sarracino De la Rosa. Cebollas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Resistencia's Gaetano Mathieu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agamenón Gutierrez in the 80th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Hugo Bakker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Resistencia's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Bakker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
