Jacinto Loureiro made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Wu Cheng De sent off a good shot on target. 5 minutes into the match, Marília AC's goal looked a bit too open when Xande Gatin came free, but Jacinto Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacinto Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xande Gatin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, Marília AC's Renatinho Tavares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ovidiu Cosâmbescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Romos FC's Silviu Potocianu got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Abel Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jacinto Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisão Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The supporters of Romos FC booed when Marília AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikos Koutsomitras didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Renatinho Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Cosâmbescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidiu Cosâmbescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renatinho Tavares in the 21st minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Wu Cheng De notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Marília AC's Jacinto Loureiro. Jacinto Loureiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When Tomás Marques fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marília AC's protests and gave Tomás Marques a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Marília AC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Tomás Marques hit a great ball. Ovidiu Cosâmbescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renatinho Tavares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Luisão Romero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacinto Loureiro was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
