Golden Tigers's Beto Santirso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Golden Tigers from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickard Ödman in the 15th minute of play forced Golden Tigers's goalkeeper Beto Santirso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Clube Atlético Paulista defense, Feijo Freire kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aden Couzens. The Clube Atlético Paulista fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aden Couzens should have stopped the shot. Golden Tigers were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Clube Atlético Paulista's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joélson Alagoano took the corner. Clube Atlético Paulista's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Golden Tigers the free kick. In the 52nd minute of the match Golden Tigers got a corner. Clube Atlético Paulista's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joélson Alagoano ran over to the corner to take the kick. 54 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Feijo Freire came free, but Aden Couzens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Clube Atlético Paulista's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joélson Alagoano was slow to take the kick. During this time Golden Tigers's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Golden Tigers's Victoriano Porfiro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Rickard Ödman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Clube Atlético Paulista's Aden Couzens got control of the ball when Demis Son tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Feijo Freire came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Golden Tigers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Feijo Freire couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Golden Tigers had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
