If Válbson Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válbson Paiva in the 20th minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Ernesto Farias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Paiva in the 40th minute of play. Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válbson Paiva in the 43rd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Gelu Lepuș successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Renato Barral kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hugo Alcântara made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Cadu Team's Hugo Alcântara slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Claudio-Paul Taffarel. That made the score 0-1 after 65 minutes of play. Tobias Zachrisson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Válbson Paiva reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Claudio-Paul Taffarel. The goal made the score 0-2. Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válbson Paiva in the 83rd minute of play. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Válbson Paiva in the 89th minute. In the 93rd minute of the match Válbson Paiva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
