Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberigo Addari in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Inter de Melão's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mary Cau was slow to take the kick. During this time Duri come il marmo's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Ludvig Rudkvist almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel did a great save. In the 35th minute Duri come il marmo were awarded a corner. Mary Cau went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Mary Cau got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Claudio-Paul Taffarel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Inter de Melão defense, Alberigo Addari kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudio-Paul Taffarel. The Inter de Melão fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudio-Paul Taffarel should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Rizzo came free, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudio-Paul Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberigo Addari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute of the match Duri come il marmo got a corner. Inter de Melão's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mary Cau ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mary Cau made a great header on Duri come il marmo's corner, it was just that Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel managed to reach the ball for a save. The Inter de Melão players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Duri come il marmo were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Delfim Paraense made the kick off in the second half. Inter de Melão's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when Corrado Contestabile scored to the left of an out of position Claudio-Paul Taffarel, making the score, 0-3. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudio-Paul Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 88th minute, Emilio Rizzo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Claudio-Paul Taffarel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Rizzo in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio-Paul Taffarel saved Inter de Melão from getting behind. In the 97th match minute, Inter de Melão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Zachrisson to maneuver through the defense. Duri come il marmo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
