In the 12th minute Bartosz Salamon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Inter de Melão's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Oscar Ortiz was slow to take the kick. During this time C.F Intercity's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Oscar Ortiz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Claudio-Paul Taffarel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 15 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Cazacu. Daniel Cazacu in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Claudio-Paul Taffarel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Claudio-Paul Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartosz Salamon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Inter de Melão getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Maurinho Vergílio hit a great ball. A hard shot by Oscar Ortiz from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Claudio-Paul Taffarel's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Claudio-Paul Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Song Xiao Li in the 25th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Daniel Cazacu put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Claudio-Paul Taffarel. Bartosz Salamon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Claudio-Paul Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Daniel Cazacu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Claudio-Paul Taffarel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jeremie Van Nel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delfim Paraense in the 41st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Cazacu got free with Claudio-Paul Taffarel in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Bartosz Salamon hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Inter de Melão's Delfim Paraense got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute Daniel Cazacu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Song Xiao Li fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio-Paul Taffarel having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Inter de Melão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Acácio Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. Claudio-Paul Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartosz Salamon, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Cazacu in the 61st minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartosz Salamon in the 82nd minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute Olivar Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bartosz Salamon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şimşek Miran in the 89th minute of play. Claudio-Paul Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. C.F Intercity's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
