Emil Cvitanović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loco Palermo in the 6th minute of the match. Georg Skoglund made in the 7th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Juliusz Julien however managed to control. In the 13th minute, Eugeniusz Kolbert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emil Cvitanović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paolo Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugeniusz Kolbert in the 27th minute of play forced Montesacro FC's goalkeeper Giacomo Casanova to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in MKS Maczka's zone, Ciccio Bussi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emil Cvitanović came out of the goal and Ciccio Bussi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. MKS Maczka's Emil Cvitanović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paolo Rossi in the 37th minute of play. A collision led to MKS Maczka getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Cătălin Herea hit a great ball. Emil Cvitanović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Rossi in the 40th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Paolo Rossi made a precise shot to the right of Emil Cvitanović. MKS Maczka's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 43rd match minute, MKS Maczka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dariusz Gacek to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Loco Palermo made the kick off in the second half. MKS Maczka's Emil Cvitanović proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save MKS Maczka from getting a goal against them. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind MKS Maczka's goalkeeper Emil Cvitanović, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Georg Skoglund got a throw-in 60 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Juliusz Julien. Paolo Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Cvitanović having to interfere. Paolo Rossi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Emil Cvitanović made a huge save. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind MKS Maczka's goalkeeper Emil Cvitanović, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Eugeniusz Kolbert sped through Montesacro FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Giacomo Casanova. In the 82nd minute of the game Dariusz Gacek made a throw-in which Pankracy Gaszynski played forward. Eugeniusz Kolbert's late challenge caught a Montesacro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eugeniusz Kolbert helped the player get up and apologised. Eugeniusz Kolbert kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the game, Loco Palermo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Emil Cvitanović was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 93 minutes into the match, Paolo Rossi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emil Cvitanović. MKS Maczka's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paolo Rossi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The Montesacro FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Montesacro FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
