Jeremias Cruz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Cremonese's zone, Stacy Doll stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremias Cruz came out of the goal and Stacy Doll tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stacy Doll sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stacy Doll got free with Jeremias Cruz in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th minute Calvin Huff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anfilogino Tolin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stacy Doll might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeremias Cruz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastián Erasto scored 3-0 in the 98th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeremias Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cremonese's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
