The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Petre Encuțescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cayetano Xacintu in the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the game, Zecku's Cássio Rocks nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonas Bladi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Grosso United's Antonín Orlík in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zecku's goalie prevented a goal. Petre Encuțescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonín Orlík in the 15th minute of the match. When Grosso United's Ulises Gartzen in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zecku's goalie prevented a goal. Jonas Bladi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emīls Umbrass, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 19 minutes Grosso United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wilfredo Lazcano who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Zecku's Wilfredo Lazcano to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonas Bladi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Petre Encuțescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo da Costa in the 22nd minute of the match. Petre Encuțescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonas Bladi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio Vaz in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonín Orlík in the 30th minute of play forced Zecku's goalkeeper Petre Encuțescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Cayetano Xacintu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petre Encuțescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Petre Encuțescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulises Gartzen in the 39th minute of play. Antonín Orlík fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petre Encuțescu having to interfere. Grosso United's Mauro Mendez was substituted for Celedonio Hernando.

Zecku's Isidoro Manilan was substituted for Amadeo Pudes. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emīls Umbrass to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Zecku's goalkeeper Petre Encuțescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonín Orlík. In the 60th minute Cayetano Xacintu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petre Encuțescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonín Orlík got free with Petre Encuțescu in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64th minute of the match Grosso United got a corner. Zecku's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fikri Bera ran over to the corner to take the kick. Antonín Orlík received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Petre Encuțescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivor Peake struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Jonas Bladi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zecku. Jonas Bladi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emīls Umbrass's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Jonas Bladi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivor Peake in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Grosso United's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Vaz came free, but Jonas Bladi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fikri Bera's late challenge caught a Zecku's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fikri Bera helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th match minute, Grosso United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fikri Bera to maneuver through the defense. Zecku's Cássio Rocks got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Gustavo da Costa came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Grosso United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo da Costa couldn't finish the play. After having played for 92 minutes, Ismael Edwardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zecku's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Edwardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Zecku's David Miliano got a free kick in the 94th minute. After having played for 95 minutes, Reynaldo Pietro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grosso United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reynaldo Pietro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Sixto Gumaro fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grosso United's protests and gave Sixto Gumaro a yellow card for diving instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Grosso United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
