Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walter Bock to make the kick off. It was a well-played corner which Miguel Urane managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Walter Bock sped through União Verde FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Valdir Pérez. In the last second Valdir Pérez throw himself and got hold of the ball when Walter Bock in the 62ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The corner ended in Monchi Trejos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez did a great save. Buenaventura FC's Walter Bock got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Bock came free, but Valdir Pérez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored União Verde FC's protests and gave Bebeto de Salles a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had been going on for 89 minutes, Buenaventura FC's Christian Castillo got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Valdir Pérez. André-Pierre Gignac received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdir Pérez came out and tried to block the shot, but André-Pierre Gignac slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 92nd minute. After having played for 95 minutes, Walter Bock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buenaventura FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walter Bock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Buenaventura FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than União Verde FC.
